Admissions

St Martin's CE Primary School is a mainstream, maintained community primary school.  Our maximum mainstream capacity is 210 pupils (in 7 classes) and we admit up to 30 children into our Reception class each year. If applications for admissions exceed this number, each application is considered against the admissions criteria outlined in the Admissions Policy. If we have available space, we also admit pupils mid-year, into all year groups. If you are moving to the local area, or considering changing school, we strongly encourage a tour, with our Head of School, Mrs Miller-Goddard, so that you can learn more about our wonderful school.

EYFS - Admissions

A school place is available for all children from the September after their fourth birthday and typically, application for places need to be made directly to the Local Authority by 15th January of the year in which your child should start school.

All children are admitted to school in September and following a short induction, they are usually full-time by the third week of term. In the summer term, before their admission, children will be invited to visit the school for taster sessions and these include stay and play sessions, a school lunch and story time in our library. Our Early Years team visit the children in their pre-school settings and arrange for introductory consultation early in the Autumn Term, we also offer home visits as part of the induction process.

In July, we hold an information evening for families that provides a great opportunity to meet the staff, while learning more about the school’s vison, values and the Early Years Curriculum.
